>> home : albums : a kind of magic

Released in 1986 on LP, CD and cassette. The CD issue has three extra tracks. The LP
issue has a gatefold sleeve and a printed innersleeve with artwork and lyrics.
The Argentinian LP issue is called Una Especie De Magia.
The USA 1986 CD edition has a different back sleeve.
The 1991 CD issue from the USA (available in a normal case
and as a longbox edition) has a different extra track.
A 1997 / 1998 pirate picture disc was released without a sleeve.
Released in Colombia on blue vinyl with no gatefold sleeve.
Released in New Zealed on orange vinyl. Some copies look like pink vinyl when you hold
them under the light. This is caused by the amount of pressure used during the manufacturing of the records.
Released in France on red vinyl.
Peru has a unique sleeve and a different tracklisting. Also released on cassette. It is
said that only 30 copies were made, but I highly doubt that.
East Germany (DDR) has a unique promotional LP with a pink sleeve and a white square.
Re-issued in Japan on CD in 2001 with improved sound quality. A misspressed mono issue was
issued and immediatly withdrawn after its release.
Re-issued in Japan on CD in 2004 with a card sleeve (using the 2001 remasters). The package
also includes a mini innersleeve like the original UK vinyl issue. Released in Europe on July 12 2004 (including obi's
and Japanese lyrics sheet).
